Abstract: 

This was a prospective cross-sectional study carried out in two public schools in the city of Yaoundé from March 1, 2017 to March 4, 2021, involving 299 children tested aged 7 to 11 at the ENT and surgery department. cervico maxillo facial from the Yaoundé central hospital. Of the 299 children tested, 93 presented with hearing loss and after introductory tone audiometry 45 children presented with true hearing loss. Deafness screening by equipment should be done in the neonatal period.
