LES MÉCANISMES DE GESTION DES CONFLITS EN PAYS DAN D’HIER À AUJOURD’HUI CONFLICT MANAGEMENT MECHANISMS IN PAYS DAN FROM YESTERDAY TO TODAY

The difficulties, uncertainties and contradictions in human relations have resulted in Ivory Coast and especially in the western part, stronghold of the dan or Yacouba people, many disputes and open or declared conflicts, latent or hidden since the 21st century. This article questions the history of the dan people on the actions and methods essential to the restoration of social peace regularly used by this people since their origins. Based on general information drawn from books and scientific journals on the cultural history of Africa on the one hand, and an oral survey carried out among the populations concerned on the other hand, this study demonstrates the inclusive and consistent nature of conflict prevention and management strategies in Dan. These consensual strategies that involve all components of dan society are valuable traditional African-style conflict prevention and management instruments. He therefore plunges us through this example of the dan people, into the universe of endogenous mechanisms of African peoples in general and Ivoirians in particular in their search for peace.
