POLYPE DE KILLIAN: A PROPOS DE DEUX CAS A L’HOPITAL CENTRAL DE YAOUNDE AU SERVICE ORL ET DE CHIRURGIE CERVICO MAXILLO FACIALE

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and therapeutic aspects of nasal sinus polyposis where 56 patients with bilateral nasal sinus polyposis were enrolled, evaluated and followed up over a two-year period in a cross-sectional study from 1 July 2018 to 31 June 2020. Of the 56 patients included in this study, two cases of Killian's anthrochoanal polyp, which is a benign nasal sinus tumor in basic, originating in the maxillary sinus were found. Nasal obstruction was the main reason for consultation. It was found in 95% of cases. Serous rhino rhea was found in 60% of cases, sneezing in 45% of cases. Diagnosis of polyposis was easy using nasal endoscopy. The treatment involved the ENT, the pulmonologist, sometimes the allergist. Medical treatment based on local corticosteroids and generally as a short course of care has been instituted, combined with antibiotic therapy. Surgical treatment was recommended in patients who came for recurrence, in those who had an exacerbation of symptoms or those who had resistance. But, the two patients who had an anthrochoanal polyp, were immediately operated on by the Caldwell Luc route, associated with an ethmoidectomy. The patients were seen again two months later, then six months later.
