LES AFRICAINS SUJETS ANGLAIS DANS LE DYNAMISME D’IMPLANTATION DU PROTESTANTISME FRANÇAIS EN CÔTE D’IVOIRE 1913-1962

Africans English subjects played an important role in the rise of Protestant missions in colonial Ivory Coast. Consisting mainly of small groups of migrants in place since the beginning of the colonial era, Liberians, Sierra Leoneans and those from Gold Coast were host communities for the first Protestant missionaries. In the specific case of the Biblical Mission, they provided him with the first evangelists, true vectors of the gospel's export to the indigenous populations. Produced from missionary sources and general information drawn from specialized works on the history of Christianity, this article aims to report on the contribution of West African nationals with English subjects in the Christianization of Côte d’Ivoire.
