PRISE EN CHARGE DE LA PARULIE DANS LES HOPITAUX DE LA VILLE DE YAOUNDE

This article presents the results of an assessment of the level of knowledge of oral doctors in the odonto-stomatology services of the city of Yaoundé, on the management of parulia, which is a nodular lesion that develops on the alveolar lining at the end of the mouth of a dental drainage fistula. We carried out a prospective, descriptive study of a cross-sectional nature from November 2016 to May 2017. Our study population consisted of the level of knowledge of oral doctors in the management of parulia. The data collected concerned knowledge on the etiology of the parulia, the attitude, the means and methods of management by these practitioners. We recently had 45 oral doctors in the odonto-stomatology services of the city of Yaoundé. It emerges from this study that caries involvement with 41% (26/45) would be the most likely etiology to cause the parulia according to the oral doctors interviewed. For n = 28, or 62% of practitioners found that the age group most affected by warblers would be between 5 and 10 years old. In terms of the treatment plan, practitioners under 3 years of exercise performed tooth extraction as major treatment, while those over 7 performed drainage as treatment.
